Posted on June 10th, 2009 by Aditya under Link Building
As a new learner it is one of the most common question ‘what are link characterstic Nofollow and Dofollow’. If you have probably heard or read this word and don’t yet understand. In this post I will will teach you the actual meaning of those word and how they affect the process of Link Building.
First, I’ll start with the hyper link relation of Dofollow and Nofollow.
Here are some examples:
Standard link: <a href=”www.adityaseo.com”>
Nofollow Link: <a rel=”nofollow” href=”www.adityavyas.com”>
In technical language there is no such thing as Dofollow, it just mean not Nofollow. I think Dofollow is a lot easier to grap than Nofollow.
What is the Difference between Dofollow and Nofollow?
When the bots and crawlers crawls the web page, they come accross the links and crawl them. But when the link ‘Nofollow’ link characterstic is used the crawlers or spider not able to follow the link.
Not to follow = Nofollow Pretty simple right!
Nofollow link don’t give you any gain in your link building process as Dofollow do. It’s doesn’t help to build any sort rank to your website.
Quick Tip – All the top high Page Rank sites are no-follow site.
I hope this post have cleared all the confusion about the Link Characteristic ‘Nofollow’ and ‘Dofollow.
